Shillington 25 Years AGM
Visual identity for Shillington’s AGM, marking 25 years of design education.
While teaching at Shillington, I was asked to create the look and feel for their 25-year celebration — a nod back to 1997, the year the school was founded. Rather than default to nostalgia, I started by thinking about time itself.
If the present and the past are always moving in opposite directions, how do you show both at once? Where does one stop and the other begin? How can a design regress and progress at the same time?
That thinking shaped the final outcome — a visual system built around movement, overlap, and temporal slippage. The design uses Florian Karsten’s Raster to create a flexible, grid-based structure. The result is a layered, shifting identity that feels like a puzzle, caught somewhere between eras.
